This downsizing and getting rid of things is not as easy as I thought. I have less than two weeks left to turnover my apartment. So, I actually just have a maximum of maybe seven days to remove all my belongings to have some time allotted for cleaning the place. I work four days and my husband five. Three bedroom full of stuff plus a storage space full of more boxes. As of this moment, I'm stressing bad!
Weekend is coming up and we are shooting for a yard sale, if, we can even manage to do that. Reality forces us to find storage! Should we rent a public storage close by, rent a shed-like unit and have it placed in my father in law's backyard, or just buy one instead of renting? Renting would be beneficial if it's going to be temporary, it's pretty expensive and it is better to buy, I guess, if it is for a long term usage. But that's the thing, we're uncertain of the time frame. We find some of the stuff worth keeping but definitely, not in the RV. Most of the stuff, we don't really mind letting go, except for loosing the monetary value of the items. But, is it worth paying the monthly storage fees for stuff that we think we may use in the future?
It is amazing, tho, just writing down this storage issues helps me decide on it. My brain just keeps on telling me one thing...say goodbye to everything and hit the road!!!

We say take your own advice (that's your intuition screaming at you):

You can sit there and contemplate it and play the "what if's" through your mind until you drive yourself nutty. And in the end you will still come to the conclusion that "stuff" should never own you. Letting go is all part of the transition and healing process.

Thanks for the encouragement. Yesterday we got rid of the big stuff thru friends & co-workers who needed it. The rest we just gave away to neighbors & whoever wanted it. Some valuable things, we gave to my father in law & the rest we're sending to my side of the family. It was such a relief!!! We're kind of excited to move in the RV & turnover the apartment tomorrow!!! It sure is going to be an adventure!!! It's funny, too. Lots of people couldnt fathom the idea of not staying the course of the american dream, which is to work hard to accumulate stuff to show status quo or some form of success! Oh, well! We're simply proud of ourselves for choosing the free life! Thanks again!
Live simple! I had to give away most of my kitchen stuff to a college kid who was just learning how to cook, it was super freeing and cool to have a 20 year old guy wanting to learn how to cook and not knowing what do do with a Turkey platter! We have storage but it's mostly for Brian's tools. We will probably get one of those storage thule's for the top of the car.
